Origin

Red Jasper owes its name to the Greek word "jaspidem" which means speckled stone. This stone has brought luck, protection and wealth for millennia. Extracted in India, the Urals or Brazil, this stone, steeped in history, has been used for several millennia. Composition

Red Jasper is part of the family of microcrystalline quartz and is mainly composed of silica, it can also be of volcanic origin. On the Mohs scale, its hardness is between 6.5 and 7 and its specific gravity is 2.75. Its color can vary from brick red to moderate red.
